Lekha is a Registered Acupuncturist with over 10 years experience. She uses a blend of TCM acupuncture with myofascial and structural manipulation to treat acute and chronic pain, soft tissue injuries and general systemic disorders.
Acupuncture has gained popularity in the West due to its ability to treat acute and chronic pain, as well as numerous other conditions. During a treatment, very thin, solid and hair like needles are inserted on specific areas on the body. These points on the body enable the release of natural pain relievers such as endorphins and enkephalins.
Acupuncture plus meditative qi gong breathing releases stress from our nervous system so we feel calm and relaxed. It helps the brain release neuropeptides to relieve pain and stimulate the bodys self healing process. Neurotransmitters (which is our brains way of communicating) such as serotonin, and noradrenalin are all affected by acupuncture, which in turn affects our mood.
Lekha utilizes acupuncture, acupressure, myofascial stretching, guasha, cupping, meditation, qi gong breathing and electroacupuncture in her treatments.
